Sad and disturbing news has been circulating throughout the day regarding the execution of death sentences against several young convicts who have been sentenced to the death penalty. Bahrain has entered into another dark tunnel with lots of pain and suffering -- closing all doors of hope in calming the volatile political and security situation.
The National Democratic Movement forces appeal to His Majesty the King to halt the execution order and to repeal it in order to spare the country all the negative and dangerous repercussions of such a decision.
This appeal is based on The National Democratic Movement forces’ national and sincere principles, its keenness on the safety, security and stability of the nation, and in fair and just principles applied by all international charters, norms and humanitarian values.
We are in total confidence that His Majesty envisions clearly the political, social and security damage that will infect our country and undermine its international prestige and reputation, as well as the risk of tearing national ranks and ripping our national unity.
We look forward with hope to a rapid response to our appeal and to all calls from loyal citizens to stop the death penalty. We hope that halting executions will open doors to a wise decision towards security and political detente and the search for national, peaceful and fair solutions to the current crisis and to enable our country to build trust among all parties and accomplish the goal of comprehensive national reconciliation and the supreme interest of the nation.
